Titanium is corrosion-resistant, so it is often used in the
chemical industry. In the past, the parts containing hot nitric
acid in chemical reactors were made of stainless steel. Stainless

titanium. When smelting titanium, air and water are strictly
prohibited. Even the alumina crucible commonly used in metallurgy

People use magnesium and titanium tetrachloride to react in inert
gas helium or argon to extract titanium.
People take advantage of the strong chemical combination ability of
titanium at high temperature. When steelmaking, nitrogen is easy to
dissolve in molten steel. When the ingot is cooled, bubbles are
formed in the ingot, affecting the quality of steel. Therefore,
steelmakers add metal titanium to the molten steel to combine it
with nitrogen to become slag titanium nitride, which floats on the
surface of the molten steel, so that the ingot is relatively pure.
When a supersonic aircraft flies, its wing temperature can reach
500 ℃. If the wing is made of heat-resistant aluminum alloy, Baidu
will not be able to afford it. There must be a light, tough and
high-temperature resistant material to replace aluminum alloy, and
titanium can just meet these requirements. Titanium can also
withstand the test of more than 100 degrees below zero. At this low
temperature, titanium still has good toughness without brittleness.
The strong absorption of titanium and zirconium to air can remove
air and cause vacuum. For example, a vacuum pump made of titanium
can pump air to only one hundred thousandth of a billion.
